Client: Private

Scope: Addition

Size: 2,200 SF

Completion: 2006

Project Manager: Richard Berliner, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, ALEP

721 Hampden is a 2,200-SF mid-century modern home located in Pacific Palisades, California. Berliner Architects designed an addition to the original 700 square foot structure with the primary goal of preserving the 1940’s character while simultaneously modernizing the house, utilizing sustainable materials and systems throughout.

The house was thoughtfully designed to take full advantage of the small lot, maximizing the sweeping views and allowing for an abundance of natural sunlight to light the rooms. The outdoor design integrates a modern landscape design to frame the house, adding color and a softness to the mid-century structure.
